The Brighton area consists of the City of Brighton and parts of the townships of Brighton, Green Oak, Hamburg and Genoa.

Brighton is also home to one of Michigan’s finest ski resorts at Mt. Brighton. Featuring 26 trails and five lifts covering 130 acres, Mt. Brighton is a winter destination for many skiers from Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing and Northwest Ohio. As a Vail Resorts property, Mt. Brighton is also a gateway to skiing adventure throughout the U.S.

The Brighton Area School District  is one of the premier school districts in the state of Michigan. There are four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school located near downtown. Brighton also has several private and charter school options. Brighton schools have received state and national recognition for excellence in education.
