Howell is centrally located within Livingston County and is the county seat. Howell is known for several popular festivals: Fantasy of Lights, Melon Festival, and Michigan Challenge Balloon Festival.
Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Howell City Park. You can take a walk, play on the swings, picnic with family or friends, or enjoy the fun and sun in the water at the beach. Within the park, Howell City boat launch is open to the public May 1 – October 31.
For seniors, Howell offers The Howell Senior Center located in the Bennett Recreation Center, just west of downtown Howell. The senior center offers social, recreational, and educational opportunities for residents 50 and older.
Howell schools consist of six elementary schools, two middle schools a freshmen campus, and a high school. Cleary University is a four year university and is also located in Howell.
One of Howell’s most popular attractions is Tanger Outlet with over 75 brand name outlets. This shopping center is easily accessible from I-96 exit 133, Highland Road exit on the west end of Howell.
