The lovely Village of Pinckney is located within Putnam Township. Pinckney was founded in 1827 and incorporated into a village in 1883. Pinckney, Hamburg, and Putnam are home to beautiful rolling hills and two lake chains. There are several park and recreational areas including Gregory State Game Area and the Pinckney Recreation Area. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the many hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as plenty of wonderful areas for swimming.
The Village of Pinckney is a small community of approximately 2,500 residents. The quaint downtown area is home to several shops, restaurants, businesses, and the Pinckney Community Library.
Pinckney Community Schools offer programs and services for learners of all ages. There are two K-3 schools, one 4-6 school, one 7-8 school, and one high school.
Many events are put on during the year by the chamber, such as Art in the Park, Movies in the Park, and the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
